These Terms of Service ("Terms") apply to the training analytics platform operated for Surrey Cycling Club members ("the Platform"). The Platform is offered to Surrey Cycling Club members.
1. Who may use the Platform
You must be at least 18 years old and a member of Surrey Cycling Club (or otherwise invited under a club programme we operate). By authorising Strava access and using the Platform, you confirm that you meet these requirements.
Member authentication is carried out by Strava. We do not hold your Strava password.
2. Support
Support for the Platform is provided by Surrey Cycling Club Limited (the club operator), not by Strava, Inc. Strava does not operate, maintain, or support this application.
For help with the Platform (sign in, sync, analytics, profile, or data requests), email [email protected] or visit our Support page.
For Strava account, password, billing, or Strava app issues, contact Strava support directly.
3. Club membership and access
While you are a member of Surrey Cycling Club, you have unlimited access to the Platform for the duration of that membership, subject to these Terms.
If you leave the club or are no longer eligible as a member, we will immediately and automatically:
- Revoke this app's connection to your Strava account (deauthorise).
- Delete all synced activities, training analytics, goals, coaching data, and profile information we hold for you.
- Remove your member record from the Platform entirely.
This happens as soon as the Platform detects that you are no longer a member of the club on Strava. There is no grace period. If you rejoin the club on Strava, you may sign in again and start fresh, but previously synced data cannot be recovered.
4. Strava access and data use
Our Strava integration uses read-only API permissions (read, activity:read_all, profile:read_all). We use these to download activities and profile fields for analysis on the Platform.
We do not create, modify, upload, or delete activities, photos, comments, kudos, or profile information on your Strava account. We only read data from Strava and store a copy on our systems to power training analysis on the Platform.
Metrics such as eFTP, training load, and heart rate context are calculated with our own software on our infrastructure from that stored copy. In line with Strava's API Agreement and API Policy (effective June 2026), we do not use Strava data to develop, train, fine-tune, evaluate, or operate any artificial intelligence or machine learning application. We do not send Strava activity or profile data to third-party AI services, large language model providers, or model developers.
If you disconnect or use Wipe & disconnect on your Profile, we revoke this app's access to Strava and delete data we hold. That does not delete anything on Strava itself.
5. Your data on the Platform
Data synced from Strava and information you enter on the Platform remains yours. We analyse it with our algorithms to show performance trends, goals, and training context on your dashboard. Your data is linked to your profile only and is not shared with other members.
In addition to Strava activity data, the Platform asks you to provide:
- Email address: used for account identification and future email notifications about your training (for example weekly summaries or goal milestones). We do not share your email with third parties.
- Date of birth (year): used to calculate age-adjusted training metrics such as heart rate zones.
- Height and weight: used to calculate power to weight ratios, estimated metrics, and body-related training analysis.
- Sex: used for physiological calculations where male and female reference ranges differ.
You may wipe synced data or wipe and disconnect at any time from your Profile page. See our Privacy Policy.
6. Club comparisons and leaderboards
The Platform supports training analysis and performance tracking. You may be compared or highlighted against other club peers (for example monthly distance, annual riding, or power rankings) as a rank or leaderboard position, not by publishing your raw metrics to other members.
Club leaderboard visibility is off by default. Manage it from your Profile, or email [email protected] if you need help.
7. No reliance, no warranty
Content on the Platform is for general training information only. It is not medical advice. Obtain professional advice before changing your training or if you have health concerns.
The Platform, including eFTP, training load, and analytics, is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any purpose.
You must comply with road, access, and local laws when cycling. We are not liable for injury, loss, or damage arising from your use of the Platform while riding or training.
8. Reporting issues
If you spot inconsistent, unrealistic, or incorrect information, report it to club owners and email [email protected]. We welcome feedback.
9. Acceptable use and suspension
You agree not to misuse the Platform, scrape it without permission, attempt unauthorised access, or interfere with other members' data. We may suspend or remove access if these Terms are breached or club membership requirements are no longer met.
If you believe someone else knows your Strava login details, notify Strava promptly and contact us.
10. Intellectual property
We own or license intellectual property in the Platform, including software, design, and analytics methods. You may not copy or commercialise the Platform without our written permission.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. The "Last updated" date will change when we do. It is your responsibility to review these Terms regularly. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
12. Acceptance and withdrawal
By authorising Strava access and using the Platform, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. Go to your Profile, use Wipe & disconnect, and do not sign in again.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to your statutory rights if you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland.
